Gmax field safety testing in York, Pennsylvania
Gmax has become a crucial test to understand how the specific surface reacts during collisions with the surface. The Gmax rating reflects the surfaces ability to absorb force – if the surface cannot absorb sufficient force the risk of players sustaining impact related injuries may be too great to comply with ASTM standard F1936.
Gmax testing is recommended to be carried out on a biannual basis to ensure surface and player safety is closely monitored. Gmax testing can also detect early signed of premature wear as a result of an inadequate maintenance programme.
