Gmax field testing in Chickasaw, Alabama for synthetic playing surfaces

Surface Performance Ltd are an independant Gmax testing laboratory available to carry out testing in Chickasaw, Alabama.

When a player collides with the playing surface, impact is absorbed by either the player or the surface. Gmax testing measures shock attenuation, ensuring the surface absorbs sufficient impact, minimising the likelihood of injury to the athlete. Surface Performance test to ASTM F355 and ASTM Specification F1936 which states that a field with a Gmax measurement in excess of 200g’s is deemed unsafe for use.  A high Gmax result represents a harder surface, absorbing less impact and therefore returning more force to the athlete upon impact.

The condition and safety of playing surfaces degrades over time. Surface Performance Ltd strive to ensure player safety is monitored and maximised using Gmax, HIC and Clegg testing.
