Gmax testing, or impact attenuation, measures the shock absorbed by the synthetic turf when impacted by a players torso or head. Surface Performance carry out Gmax testing to ASTM Standard F355-A.

The Gmax of a field is calculated by dropping the missile in 10 different locations across the field. It is dropped 3 times per location and an average is calculated using the final two drops. Surface Performance Ltd provided a comprehensive report post testing including recommendations for any necessary remediations.
