Gmax testing measures the shock absorbing features of the playing surface. The harder the surface, the higher the gmax values. Recognised standards require that all synthetic surfaces must have no test points with a higher gmax rating of 200g’s, otherwise the surface is deemed unfit for use and remediation is required.
