Gmax testing is recognised throughout the USA as a fundamental safety test to ensure the playing surface is fit for use, recommended on bi-annual basis for most effective monitoring of the surface.

Gmax testing measures the shock absorbing qualities of the playing surface. The lower the shock absorption, the greater the impact on the player using the surface, and thus likelihood of injury.
