Gmax, HIC (Head Injury Criterion) and Clegg testing in Delaware and throughout America

Surface Performance have qualified technicians based in Delaware and throughout America available to carry out a range of specialist safety and performance testing to your natural or artificial sports surfaces.

With concussions being such a hot topic gmax and HIC testing is a fundamental test to ensure playing surfaces are not exposing players to excessive forces upon impact. ASTM developed their standard F1936 which focuses on impact attenuation – no surface should have a gmax rating of above 200g’s in any of the 10 testing locations. Testing is carried out to ASTM test method F355 and should be carried out at least once per year.
