Gmax testing in Columbia, Tennessee

Surface Performance use a ASTM F355 A-Missile Measurement Tester to calculate Gmax values. There is a accelerometer inside the 20lb missile, upon impact it measures the impact attenuation of the playing surface. As per ASTM F1936 standards, no test points on the surface should be higher than 200g’s otherwise remediation would be required.

Gmax ratings may change over time as a result of infill displacement, turf fibre wear and infill compaction. It is therefore important to have surfaces tested at least twice per year.
