Artificial surface gmax testing in Loveland, Colorado

Gmax testing has become a fundamental test to ensure artificial and natural playing surfaces are safe for use. ASTM Standard F1936 requires all surfaces to have a gmax rating below 200g’s. The harder the surface, the higher the gmax value and the higher the magnitude of force exerted on the players upon impact.

The gmax rating of a field is calculated using our specialist F355 A-Missile, a 20lb cylindrical missile which is dropped in 10 different locations across the field. It is dropped 3 times per location and an average is calculated using the final two drops.
