If a sports surface is too hard, according to the ASTM standards (+200g’s), it would be deemed unsafe for use as it exerts excessive impact on the players. Therefore, at Surface Performance we provide state of the art testing with a ASTM F355 A-Missile to measure the gmax rating of a field. Gmax testing is designed to replicate the weight and impact of a players torso or head. Gmax testing is recognised throughout the USA as a fundamental safety test to ensure the playing surface is fit for use.
