Surface Gmax testing carried out in line with ASTM test method F355 in Waco, Texas
Surface Performance use a specialist ASTM F355 A-Missile Measurement Tester to calculate the gmax rating. There is a accelerometer inside the 20lb missile, upon impact it measures the impact attenuation of the playing surface. Put simply, this measures the force absorbed by the surface and what is transferred back to the player.
Testing should be carried out twice per year in order to allow for effective monitoring and any changes to maintenance plans or remediation.
