Gmax safety testing in Prescott, Arizona
Surface Performance conduct gmax testing in Prescott, Arizona to measure the shock-absorbing characteristics of the playing surfaces. Surface Performance test to ASTM F355-01 – “Standard Test Method for Shock-Absorbing Properties of Playing Surface Systems and Materials”.
The gmax rating represents the amount of force the surface is able to absorb upon impact. The higher the gmax rating, the less force the surface absorbs and therefore more force is transferred to the athlete. ASTM F355 and F1936 state that a surface should not have a gmax rating of greater than 200.
