Gmax shows the magnitude of force on impact. A surface that absorbs less force will have high Gmax measurements. A player colliding with a hard surface will sustain more force upon impact, increasing the likelihood of injury. Standards therefore recommend Gmax results should be no higher than 200g’s.

Gmax testing is recommended to be carried out on an annual basis to ensure player safety is closely monitored.
