Gmax Testing | Sanford

Gmax testing in Sanford

Gmax testing is carried out to ascertain the performance characteristics of an artificial grass playing surface. Gmax testing is a measurement of impact attenuation, carried out in line with ASTM F355 standards.

Surface Performance Gmax testing measures two things, absorption and impact. A 20lb missile is dropped in 10 locations on the field, three drops per location. The missle measure G forces upon impact which provides Gmax values for the surface. Results higher than 200g’s indicate the surface is not fit for use and the likelihood of injury is too high due to the low impact attenuation.

Gmax testing is recommended to be carried out on an annual basis to ensure player safety is closely monitored. Contact us using the form below if you would like to find out more or schedule a test, and one of our experts will be happy to assist.
