Gmax testing is carried out to ASTM test method F355 using a specialist A-Missile, a 20lb cylindrical missile we can measure the impact attenuation of the surface. This is shown in a gmax rating. ASTM require surfaces to be below 200g’s but ideally a surface should have a gmax rating below 165g’s.
