Gmax safety testing in North Little Rock, Arkansas

Gmax testing is carried out by Surface Performance in North Little Rock, Arkansas to ensure all natural and artificial surfaces are fit for use and meet ASTM Standard F1936. Surface Performance carry out gmax testing to testing standard F355 using a calibrated A-Missile.

Gmax testing measures the shock absorbing qualities of the playing surface. The harder the surface, the higher the gmax values. ASTM requires that all synthetic surfaces must have no test points with a higher gmax rating of 200g’s. If this requirement is not met then the surface is deemed unfit for use and remediation would be required.

Artificial surfaces gmax values generally increase as the field ages. The speed of this increase are due to numerous factors, it is therefore important to have gmax testing carried out at least once a year.
