With an increasing focus placed on player injuries and concussion, Gmax testing is becoming viewed as a fundamental test in the artificial turf industry. Gmax testing measures the impact attenuation of a surface, which is intrinsic to the impact returned to players using the surface. ASTM F355 & F1936 standards state that no field should have a gmax rating of greater than 200g’s.

Gmax testing is recommended to be carried out once or twice per year to ensure player safety is closely monitored.
