Gmax testing is recognised throughout the USA as a fundamental safety test to ensure the playing surface is fit for use

Surface Performance carry out testing to ASTM F355 and F1936 standards, using a state of the art A-missile – a 20lb, cylindrical weight dropped from 24inches. The integrated accelerometer measures the g-forces exerted on the missile upon impact. This shows the impact attenuation of the surface. If the impact attenuation of the surface is low, higher impact will be retained by the user. If this is too high, likelihood of injury is increased which can reach unacceptable levels.

Gmax testing is recommended biannually to ensure optimum surface maintenance.
